- Have an outside area for drying clothes
- Outside hot shower for when returning from being in the sea.
- Stainless steel drain pipes are apparently life cycle long the most eco (vs plastic etc.)
+/OR - Rain chains (not downpipes). If these drop into water containers they could make a great noise !

- If there is going to be an external hot tub, insulate it as much as possible. The insulation will need to work when it’s wet as it’ll be outside. I’d like to avoid polystyrene, so I’m considering cork, rubber matting and need to look further into Fibercor:
- Reusable, yet easily disposable material (fully recyclable)
- Made from 25% recycled materials
- Non petroleum-based
- Non-toxic and non-hazardous
- Easy to pack into corners

The planning application approved design has wide vertical cladding on the middle floor and thin horizontal cladding on the top floor.
External Colour(s)
Externally I’m thinking white render walls and the natural colour of the cedar cladding.
Look at the render having pigment added, so that you don’t need to paint the house.
