An eco house with a view.
The Plan
Silver Spray is currently (April 2011) a 2 bedroom bungalow on Droskyn Point in Perranporth, Cornwall.
The plan is to replace the bungalow with a larger but fundamentally ecologically biased house.
Passivhaus
Pursuing the German Passivhaus standards (or similar), will mean an “extremely airtight building envelope” and a “heat recovery ventilation system”. This gives an ultra-low energy buildings that require little energy for space heating or cooling.
House Energy
Energy is not just the amount to keep the house at a comfortable level to live in, but also the amount of energy used to build the house. The embodied energy of the materials used, if they are recycled, if they can be recycled in the future, if there can be minimum construction and on-going materials waste.
About Me
I consider myself lucky to live in Cornwall, with Perranporth beach as my morning walk with Pebbles (my dog). Meeting others from the village and beyond. Checking the conditions for a possible kitesurf of stand up paddle board later in the day.
